Let's Get Started!
Come visit and say hello!
If you are a new student considering music instruction at The Lark's Nest Music Studio, please schedule a visit to meet me and see the Music Studio. I love meeting students face to face to chat and hear about your musical interests.
The Music Studio is located at 1120 NW 61st Street, Seattle 98107 in the west side of the duplex. The entrance is down the driveway on the left side of the house, as the front entrance is for the occupant of the other half of the duplex. Parking is available on the street only.
The Music Studio contact number is 360-701-1844. Texting this number or emailing VisitTheLarksNest@gmail.com are the best ways to get in touch.
Instrument - Tune your piano at least once a year. If an electronic keyboard is your instrument, make sure it has a full keyboard with 88 keys, weighted keys, and an expression pedal.

Ages 11 and up - a combination of technic, theory, and music books will be used depending on the level and abilities of the student. We will be making our own flashcards. Also add Holiday and Supplemental Books - popular, jazz, etc. that look interesting to your student.
Advanced students - the sky is the limit!

FALL SESSION - September and October
Fall Session - Composer
Fall - Music Studio Star
Gustav Holst - The Planets
We'll add more info as students learn about this amazing composer.
Click on the picture to hear The Planets from a Young People's Concert in 1972 with Leonard Bernstein teaching young people about the piece. He is conducting the New York Philharmonic and adds a special treat with an orchestral improvisation inspired by the 'not yet discovered at the time of Holst's composition' planet, Pluto!
I've been playing the piano forever, it seems, but my first memory was my Dad teaching me when I was 3 years old. I always wanted to be a music teacher so, now that I'm an adult, I actually get to do what I really love!
Click on the picture to hear me play one of the pianos at Greenlake from the Pianos in the Parks summer program in 2016. The link will take you to our YouTube page where you'll find more videos to view!
